All the little Dollies

Alice got to meet her Dolly's cousins last time we were in Green Lake. Aunt Ginny's own Bubbles and Dolly the First are in a little rattier shape than Alice's Dolly -- but all in all, they didn't smell too bad.

Chicken farmer

Although she's been coming with us to help us collect eggs and change the bedding all winter long, Alice only recently seems to have started noticing that there are actual chickens in the coop, too. She thinks they are very funny - especially Drumstick and Floofhead - and sometimes tries to make "cluck, cluck" noises, herself. Daddy worries that she's going to get her fingers pecked off - they look a lot like tasty earthworms to the chickens!

Little Green Riding Hood

Alice, who has always had a flair for drama, apparently wanted to act out a scene from Grimm's Fairy Tales last weekend when we were visiting Grandma & Grandpa. This wolf wasn't so big & bad, however.

Fun in the park

It's starting to get warm enough that we can enjoy an afternoon in the park. Alice really enjoyed watching all the older kids and digging in the chopped rubber "sand," but she found the slides to be a rather hair-raising experience.

Correspondence

Alice likes arranging stickers and dictating letters to all her friends. If you are not on her penpal list, but would like a card, you should email us your address.

Winter blues

Springtime is almost here, and Alice can hardly wait. She keeps staring out the living room window, or pulling her rocking chair up to the French doors, and looks longingly outside.

Airlift

Riding around in the push-cart is no longer exciting enough for Alice - now she wants to be airlifted, whether in a shopping bag, on Daddy's shoulders, or in a pillowcase...

Feeding Dolly

We used to have a really cute video of this: Alice pulling the chairs up to the table, positioning Dolly, and then pretending to spoon-feed her, but that got accidentally deleted when we were uploading pictures from the camera to the computer. It's ironic, because Alice for the most part really doesn't like to be spoon-fed herself. We're having problems weaning her from the bottle.

13 months

A little bit of the sniffles and a head cold help slow Alice down enough that she'll actually sit still for pictures. Plus she likes to bottle-feed her various dolls.

Chase me!

Alice is almost exclusively walking (not crawling) now. She can't really run yet, which makes it difficult for her to get away when she plays "chase me!" with Mommy. She always gets caught and then hugged and kissed quite excessively.
